Sports on offer pre match
There is a fair amount of football on show but far from being market leading. It is probably an average amount of matches but for some of them there is only one market on offer (the win-draw-win) which is pretty poor. One good thing is that they do offer non-league football down to a low level with the Isthmian League on show. Outside of football, there is a large variety with all of the sports shown on Sky Sports having markets for outrights and any matches in the near future. Unlike Sky Sports News though they actually bother to cover sports they don’t show as well.
Sports on offer in play
A quick look at the Live betting calendar shows that there is not a huge amount on, especially if betting on football is not your bag. A quiet Monday shows 23 games on while Ladbrokes have 60 and bet365 a few more than that. The busy weekend period also pales in comparison to the bigger boys in the industry. The one thing they do have is a ruddy good advert but sadly for them, people don’t just bet with a firm based on an advert (or at least I hope they don’t).
Offers
Sky’s sign up bonus is only a £10 matched bet which is anything but stand out, however they have a new and improved loyalty bonus. It is rare that current customers get rewards and even rarer that they can choose their reward. By spending at least £10 a day for 20 different days you can either get £20 in free bets or £20 off your Sky TV bill. A nice touch. Keeping with TV, they also offer the Super Six as seen on Soccer Saturday which is a free bet on the correct scores of six chosen games. Match all six to win over £100,000 or get the closest for £5000.
Pricing
Their prices are nothing special as they normally take a market view and are rarely best priced on the favourite. They will often come up with special prices to do with their advert, ‘what if the high balls keep coming’ accompanies a price of 4-1 for Stoke to score from a Rory Delap throw.
Site Design
The new advert is splashed all over the home page which is unsurprising considering its popularity but more room could be given to actual prices. They have a number of specialist football lists which help you to find what you want easier be it a big favourite in the banker coupon, a live match on the TV coupon or all the under/over selections.
Customer service
Everything you would expect; a live chat service that requires little if any queuing time and helpful and responsive staff. There is also an email which gives a speedy reply and helpful phone staff. If you’re over the age of 70 you can also post them a letter. I can’t claim to have researched the speed in response to this but I’m expecting a slower response than the other three methods.
