SkyBet Review

Sports on offer pre match

There is a fair amount of football on show but far from being market leading. It is probably an average amount of matches but for some of them there is only one market on offer (the win-draw-win) which is pretty poor. One good thing is that they do offer non-league football down to a low level with the Isthmian League on show. Outside of football, there is a large variety with all of the sports shown on Sky Sports having markets for outrights and any matches in the near future. Unlike Sky Sports News though they actually bother to cover sports they don’t show as well.

Sports on offer in play

A quick look at the Live betting calendar shows that there is not a huge amount on, especially if betting on football is not your bag. A quiet Monday shows 23 games on while Ladbrokes have 60 and bet365 a few more than that. The busy weekend period also pales in comparison to the bigger boys in the industry. The one thing they do have is a ruddy good advert but sadly for them, people don’t just bet with a firm based on an advert (or at least I hope they don’t).

Offers

Sky’s sign up bonus is only a £10 matched bet which is anything but stand out, however they have a new and improved loyalty bonus. It is rare that current customers get rewards and even rarer that they can choose their reward. By spending at least £10 a day for 20 different days you can either get £20 in free bets or £20 off your Sky TV bill. A nice touch. Keeping with TV, they also offer the Super Six as seen on Soccer Saturday which is a free bet on the correct scores of six chosen games. Match all six to win over £100,000 or get the closest for £5000.

Pricing

Their prices are nothing special as they normally take a market view and are rarely best priced on the favourite. They will often come up with special prices to do with their advert, ‘what if the high balls keep coming’ accompanies a price of 4-1 for Stoke to score from a Rory Delap throw.

Site Design

The new advert is splashed all over the home page which is unsurprising considering its popularity but more room could be given to actual prices. They have a number of specialist football lists which help you to find what you want easier be it a big favourite in the banker coupon, a live match on the TV coupon or all the under/over selections.

Customer service

Everything you would expect; a live chat service that requires little if any queuing time and helpful and responsive staff. There is also an email which gives a speedy reply and helpful phone staff. If you’re over the age of 70 you can also post them a letter. I can’t claim to have researched the speed in response to this but I’m expecting a slower response than the other three methods.

Boyle Sports Review

Sports on offer pre match

The sight of handball being on the sports section on the left is a sign that Boyle have gone
the extra yard on sports and want to be near the top of the market. A wide variety of sports
and matches; now, next week and well in to the future. Football is well represented with
every major European league, all the rubbish European leagues, African, South American and
Asian as well. It’s a global game and this is shown here.

Sports on offer in play

A good offering for in play, certainly more than the worst bookies but a little less than the
best. All the big football is covered and for the insomniacs amongst us there are overnight
matches from America and South America. On top of football there is cricket, American
football, snooker and basketball as well as major tournaments in other sports.

Offers

The almost mandatory sign up bonus is a £20 match bet for new members. If you’re already
a member then you can look forward to weekly specials like weekly bets refunding first
scorers in certain games if the player you’ve backed scores second. A pretty random offer is
that if you place a bet of £5 or more then you are entered in a prize draw to win two tickets
to the FAI Cup Final, that’s the Irish Cup final to you and me. Unique I guess.

Pricing

Their Win Draw Win prices on football are a relatively low 105 -106%, in laymen’s terms that
is better value for money for the punter than most bookies. More bang for your buck. Other
match markets appear to have a bigger over round per selection so the strategy appears to
be to get punters through the door, as it were, with the value on the big headline market
and then make their money on the lesser markets. With regards to outright betting, they
don’t appear to be too brave, with few if any best prices across the board and a best price
favourite is about as rare as a leprechaun.

Site Design

There is an option on the home page to skip to the classic site. I presume this is for those
people who don’t like change, like those who post every Facebook status about the slight
changes to Facebook then can’t remember what it was like originally a week later. There are
a lot of repeat tabs, on the left and down the centre which can be annoying but at least there
is little chance of not finding what you want quickly.

Customer Service

Everything you would expect but you must bear in mind that Boyle are based in Ireland so
the Live Chat option may be easier than the phone option for reasons of xenophobic accent
misunderstanding. The Live Chat may also be a write off past 9pm if I know the Irish, and to
be fair I don’t really so am just basing my opinion on the many jokes I hear about them.

Bet365 Review

Sports on offer pre match

The in play odds take pride of place on the home page but there isn’t much sport that you can think of that does not have outright prices on it. Hurling, check. Aussie Rules, check. Futsal, check. Bandy, check. Trotting, check. Monkey tennis, not yet.

Sports on offer in play

The Stoke based firm seem to pride themselves on offering prices on any sporting event going on anywhere in the world. I was playing a game of three and in in the garden and suddenly found myself the 4-1 favourite to be donning the gloves next. A brief look on the site on a Tuesday afternoon sees prices for Qatar under 19s v Bhutan under 19s football, a challenger tour tennis match, badminton, European basketball, bowls, ice hockey and volleyball. I don’t have enough words to go through what they do on a Saturday.

Offers

Amongst a whole host of offers on display, the stand out is the £200 sign up bonus. You would think this is too good to be true and it is in a way as you must bet through your deposit and bonus three times before being able to withdraw. If you are skilled enough to bet through £1200 only backing odds above 1-2 then fair play to you as you deserve it. Other highlights include a ‘100% bonus on football accumulators’ which is not quite all it seems. You get a small bonus for trebles and fourfolds but only the 100% if a 14-fold accumulator comes in. As before, you will have certainly earned your bonus.

Pricing

In most sports they are very competitive offering a lower percentage book than a lot of firms. They will also mix this in with a few high percentage markets to capitalise on the huge customer base. The amount of markets on offer is also larger than most, with many instant markets to satisfy your desire for a quick buck. Overall, prices are definitely amongst the best on offer, especially in play.

Site Design

Everything is easy to find on the home page with an in play diary, pre match odds down the left and a handy toolbar across the top. This tool bar has a language option and an option to change odds from fractional to decimal (old school to new school to those confused). When clicking in to an event, if live streaming is available (and with 20 thousands events being streamed live, the odds are good that it will be) then there is a nice enlargeable window to view the game.

Customer service

The customer service is everything you would expect from a top site with live chat, email addresses and a large help section. There is also a how to guide for those new to the industry with simple things like how to place a bet and a ‘How do I know if I’ve won’ section. Frankly, if a punter doesn’t know whether they’ve won or lost then they are a bookie’s dream.

32RedBet.com Review

Sports on offer pre match

Sport seems to have been afterthought for 32red with only the core sports on offer. Snooker and darts are stand out absentees and even the sports they do offer have very few matches on offer. They only have prices for 16 leagues on top of the compulsory European competitions. For the few matches on offer, they have a sparse selection of markets with only 16 for live televised matches and no goal scorer markets while non live matches only have nine markets. Poor.

Sports on offer in play

With no special in play section, it is fairly difficult to see how much they actually do but suffice to say it is well below the industry average. It appears they only trade sports matches that are on TV and even then they do relatively few markets. On top of this, you can’t have in play selections as part of a multiple bet.

Offers

On the site I can find no offers, bonuses or promotions. On oddschecker I can find no offers, bonuses or promotions. On google I can find loads of offers….. but all for the casino. Afterthought for the sake of it.

Pricing

Not your classic English pricing structure with them throwing out 7-11s 37-13s and 13-12s but the pricing seems generous going best priced for the favourite in two of the English teams Champions League matches this week. Percentage wise, they seem very short, offering between 102% and 104% on their over and under markets. Despite everything else, pricing does seem to be above average for the punter.

Site Design

The design seems a bit clunky for with the different tabs for singles and multiples. Where as most betting sites would allow you to turn a single in to a double by adding another selection to it, 32red only allows you to create them using the multiples tab. This is probably to rule out any related multiples but most other companies have got round this problem without the need for separate areas of their website. The rest of the design is easy to follow if not a bit bland. Everything is where you would expect it to be but it’s a bit like Old Mother Hubbard’s cupboard. Bare. Other sites will overload you with their latest offers, live betting and other sports but 32red gives you just what you ask for which is refreshing in fairness. Just as long as your requests are minimal.

Customer Service

All the usual favourites with live chat, phone, email and snail mail as they call it as well as an outside of the box option in skype. For the uninitiated skype is a video to video internet phone where you can see the person you are talking to. Great idea but not that appealing as you never get in contact with a betting firm to tell them how good they are and it could create awkwardness with face to face contact. But you never know, you could find your next love.
