With Captain Sneddon’s Profit Express experiencing some slight delays he’s called me in to make this a double act. There’ll be no shared captaincy in this arrangement, I shall just operate as Chief Commanding Profiteer, or something to that effect.
Football Conference: York v Chester
York City to win at 4/6 with Bet365.
Richard Brodie to score first at 9/2 with Blue Sq.
York City have lost just twice in their last 16 outings and look certain to record a win here against a club with more problems than fans. Chester have got their act together a bit after a dreadful start but York will be buoyant after their FA Cup exploits at the weekend against Crewe. York’s main goal threat Richard Brodie has notched up 5 in his last 7 and will be integral to them getting the result that would lift them to within 1 point of the play-offs. He’s 9/2 to get the first goal so he’s worth a flutter.
International Rugby: England v Argentina
England/England half-time/full-time at 5/9 with Betfair.
England penalty to be first scoring play at 17/12 with Betfair.
Martin Johnson will be looking for a big response after England’s disappointing showing at Twickenham on Saturday and Argentina are likely to be on the end of that. With Johnny Wilkinson making his fourth comeback on Saturday he may have been unable to turn things around against the Aussies, but his class will surely shine through against Argentina, despite the fact that they are slowly but surely catching up with the European sides. The England win at 7/19 with Betfair is very shortly priced as expected but there’s more value to be had on the half-time/full-time being England/England at 5/9.
Wilkinson’s influence will no doubt come from that trusty left boot of his. England will be keen to get some points on the board early on so the first scoring play to be a penalty is worth backing at 17/12 with Betfair.
Remember; only bet what you can afford to lose. Mr Sneddon and I will be back later in the week with some more tips to turn those pennies into pounds.
